A Concepts Tutorial for Android

How to Use FolderSync and Google Drive to Sync Your Drawings

Learn how to use FolderSync with Google Drive to sync your drawings and create a seamless experience across Android devices.

What you'll need:
Concepts
FolderSync
Google Drive

At the moment, there’s no way to sync Concepts files natively across Android devices, but you can use third-party software to synchronize folders on multiple devices. In this tutorial, you will learn how to sync Concepts folders across devices with the help of FolderSync and Google Drive.

Make sure you're signed in and have the Google Drive app on your device.

First, you'll need to allow Concepts to access your Internal Storage. Click the "Enable Permissions" for the Internal Storage.

Click "OK" to request access permission. You will be taken to your device Settings.

Slide the toggle for Concepts to allow permission to access local storage.

Open FolderSync.

Grant FolderSynch access to your files.

Grant permissions to FolderSync in your settings.

When prompted, add a cloud service account to FolderSync.

Choose Google Drive from the list and allow access for FolderSync. Tap the "+ Create Folder Pair" icon at the bottom right.

Give your folder pair a name.

Choose Synce engine V2 and tap "Next."

Choose Two-way sync and tap "Next."

Tap the “Change folder” underneath “SD CARD”. This will be the location of your Concepts files on your device. Choose the internal storage folder in your Concepts gallery as the location. Next, tap the “Select folder” under Google Drive and choose your preferred location from your Google Drive location.

To sync your Concepts drawings with your other devices, set the device you want to sync with in similar fashion and choose the same Google Drive folder.

Your drawings will now sync between the devices once you activate the syncing on the devices’ FolderSync app. Note that this does not allow simultaneous collaboration. You should also name your drawings with unique file names, as drawings with the same name on the different devices might not sync over. You can set the syncing to happen at certain intervals in the FolderSync settings, or you can sync your files manually.

Please note that drawings created with newer versions of Concepts will not open on older versions.

How to Sync Your Drawings Between Your Android and Windows Devices Using FolderSync and Google Drive

First, set up your Android device, as in the previous steps.

On your Windows device, install and set up Drive for desktop. Use the same Google Drive account you used to set up your Android device.

Navigate to the Concepts Gallery and open up your settings. Choose “Change” from your Gallery folder location.

Navigate to the correct location on your Google Drive with the File Explorer.

Your gallery drawings will now synchronize between your Android and Windows devices.
